A friend of mine texts me in the middle of her trip to Bikaner, Rajasthan. I was in the village and the women on one family makes quilts. I thought of you, she says. Here is her only picture with the family and look at the quilts they are sitting on. Aren't they lovely! I need to make a trip sometime and meet these people.
Sumana's Caption on Facebook (posted with permission): Playing at a village called 4KPD at the residence of Waris Ali, a senior Ustad.
To my right are his sons, Riyaz Ali and Ali Sher. The women of the family were incredibly talented and so warm !
Excuse my ignorance but I really get excited with everything new I learn about quilting. . I was looking for a video on how to sew a log cabin block and stumbled videos of a production of Quilters. See here and read about it here.
Finally! My second quilt top. This has taken way too long. I haven't been sewing much over the past few weeks. I'm not too happy with the colors. Making do with what I have at home for now. I think I should have left the printed fabric out. But I didn't have too many options at the time. Anyway, you live and you learn I guess.
